- Identify and explain the organization of the Judiciary
- -the judiciary is the branch that interprets laws and verifies if a law breaker is guilty or not. they also decide whether a bill is to be considered unconstitutional. there are 3 different types of courts one being the supreme court the other two being federal courts and state courts.
- Identify and provide examples of the powers of the Judiciary powers.
- -the judiciary branch has the right to interpret laws and consider them constitutional or unconstitutional depending on the situation. they also have the verdict upon a person who is presented in a court case deciding whether he is innocent or guilty, one is innocent until proven guilty or vise-versa depending on how one views it.
- Identify and explain how Judiciary shares powers with the Congress, Executive, and bureaucracy.
- -the judiciary serves as the check and balances for both the congress and president making sure neither one is abusing his/her powers. with congress they interpret bills and make sure they are considered constitutional.
- Discuss the implications of Judiciary sharing powers with each of the following: Congress, Executive, and bureaucracy.
- -some judges may interpret things different from how their other branches would like them to and there may be conflict. Also, because they are meant to be impartial, they may act in a way that does not easily cooperate with the other branches depending on what is getting done. They have the power to stop certain policies from taking effect or being enforced

- -judicial Functions; responsibility of the court to determine the facts involved. law-making Functions: while interpreting current laws, they also sometimes create new laws. guardianship of the Constitution: regulate the legal actions of the state and central government. advisory Jurisdiction: national judiciaries possess advisory jurisdiction. protector of the Fundamental Rights: they defend the rights of an individual
- Identify how the power of the Judiciary has/may evolve gradually.
- -over time, the judiciary branch has gained more members than it originally had and allows more of a diversity of people to join, such as allowing minorities and women. The supreme court also hears less cases than before, they get about 10,000 cases and only listen to about 100.

- -political parties have a lot to do with the Judiciary because the president appoints all judges who are of his own party affiliation. if the president is a democrat then he is most likely going to appoint people who have a liberal view. If the president was republican then he would appoint conservatives because they share his/her views. There is a great deal between them because depending on the presidents party affiliation that determines who will have a seat in the courts.

- -judiciary and interest groups are tied together when the Supreme Court takes on a case and has to read briefs before the oral argument, interest groups send briefs to explain their thoughts and opinions on the case.

- -the judiciarys cases are aired on media sites like c-span for citizens to hear the case. litmus tests like the Sonya Sotomayor are also televised. media helps the public get information of their officials
- Identify and discuss the ties between the Judiciary and state and local governments.
- -the state and local government have something called original jurisdiction which is when if they find a case to be unconstitutional then that case is moved to the supreme court which is the most superior of the courts. the case must travel up the court system in order to be viewed at by the SCOTUS.
